Custom Domain

A guide on how to setup custom domain on Typlog.

Typlog is designed for people who want to host their blogs on their own domains. When a blog is setup, a {name}.typlog.com DNS record is created. You can host your blog with this sub-domain of Typlog.

However, if you want to use your own domain, you can add it in Typlog settings:

  1. Go to your Typlog blog settings dashboard.
  2. Add your domain in the domain input field.

It won't work util you have setup the right DNS record.

DNS Record

Go to your DNS provider. If you are not using Cloudflare, it is suggested that you switch to Cloudflare. You can either add a CNAME record or an A record.

CNAME

CNAME is suggested since the IP of typlog may change in the future.

blog.example.com -> ip.typlog.com

The target of CNAME should be exactly ip.typlog.com, not your {name}.typlog.com.

A Record

If you are using the top level domain as your blog, you're not able to add a CNAME record, try A record now.

example.com  -> 138.197.221.175

IP may change in the future.

SSL

Typlog has no native SSL support right now. You can use Cloudflare to add SSL for your blog.
